Each Fall since 1983 a dedicated band of volunteers have woven together a family friendly weekend filled with illuminated ships glimmering on the Intracoastal, a Day in the Park with children’ s games, a magnificant fireworks display, music and holiday gifts, and an elegant night of dining and dancing, all to raise money for local charities and local beach renourishment / beautification projects.

From our humble beginnings over twenty-three years ago, we have grown to become one of the Top 20 “Must See Events in the Southeast”, bringing over 50,000 people each year to the shores and docks of Wrightsville Beach. What started out as a way to extend the beach tourist season by a few days and to kick off the holiday season has turned into a time-honored institution in southeastern North Carolina.

In addition to the fireworks, boat parade and Day in the Park – the North Carolina Holiday Flotilla at Wrightsville Beach strives to provide our sponsors a first class medium in which to entertain clients and employees, showcase their products and display their community involvement to the thousands of locals and tourists alike. Like any non-profit, all volunteer event – we depend upon the generous donations of local & regional businesses as well as individual donations to survive, because without the donations of a dedicated few, many thousands more would not be able to enjoy this event year after year.
